On March 19, 2009, Microsoft made Internet Explorer 8 (IE 8) part of its automatic update system. MyMathLab will continue to work normally with IE 8. While Pearson works to make MyMathLab fully compatible, MyMathLab will detect IE 8 and automatically use the Compatibility View option to emulate IE 7.

For Instructors
Number of Attempts for Homework Questions
Instructors will be able to specify the number of times each homework question on an assignment can be attempted, from 1 to the current default of unlimited. Students are told of the number of attempts they have on the Homework Overview. This option lets instructors balance students’ ability to practice with similar exercises while preserving the integrity of the assignment.

Course Email Setting
Instructors can change the email address to which Ask My Instructor messages are sent. This email address will also be used when instructors email students from the Gradebook, in both the “From:” line and the new “cc:” line, which enables instructors to retain a record of what they have sent.
MathXL Player Now Available for Calculus and Statistics Courses

For ©2006 Calculus and ©2007 Statistics courses and beyond, the MathXL® Player is used to present online exercises. Exercises in these new Calc & Stats courses include guided solutions and sample problems—the feature students report loving the most in their lower-level MyMathLab courses. For instructors, Calc & Stats courses now include the following great features:

On November 2, 2006, Microsoft made Internet Explorer 7 (IE 7) part of its update system. When you upgrade to IE 7, you will also need to install the latest version of the MathXL Player.
To install the latest Player, log in to your course and use the Installation Wizard to guide you through the installation.
