“Using this program allows you to learn at your own pace and gives you the chance to continue going over a certain area that may be tougher to learn. And it lets you go through areas you understand more quickly.”

Victor Valley College (CA)

“I have to admit that I was very nervous about taking this class because I am not much of a math person. But I have found that I have been doing so much better than I had expected due to all of the great resources in MyMathLab. The ability to keep practicing over and over until I get it, the ability to see an example and explanation of how a problem is done, and the ability to go in and find out what I need to practice more is phenomenal. This is something that cannot be done in a classroom because not everyone has confusion with the same problems and in a classroom setting, the pace is set for the entire class rather than the individual. Having all of these resources online is like having a personal tutor for the class.”

Massasoit Community College (MA)

“Using MyMathLab to do homework was quite easy. Doing my homework online gave much practice for the test given in class. What I truly like about MML is that it tells how to work out each problem and what formulas to use. By using MML I found myself better prepared for the multiple choice final exam.”

Santa Ana College (CA)

“I have no problem with telling you how much my math lab has helped me.... I have been able to help myself by going on the computer and using the video demonstrations, the online textbook, or even just by doing my homework and getting practice with the problems. This type of preparation has increased my preparedness for every math test that I have taken since using the program. This has pretty much been the only thing ever to help me grasp concepts in math and I hope that you keep it for future semesters.

University of Missouri-Columbia (MO)

As with any online course, access is at the user's discretion. I have difficulty with math (I'm an older returning student and have a real anxiety about it) and having the privacy at home to go over and over problems, at any time of the day or night, utilizing the Wizard for help with Problem Solving (Help me Solve This) and the repetition was an immense help for me. This is what allowed me to excel. Math is a subject that I must practice repeatedly in order to have it make sense to me. The actual classroom course and the instructor were superb and provided a natural springboard for the carrying away from the classroom to my home and then the practicing of it.

Since I am looking to gain entrance into the Transition to Teaching Program, it was necessary that I pass the Math Praxis. During the semester (Fall 2009), I attempted it for the third time. If it had not been for the online Homework Help offered through MyMathLab that I consistently used throughout the semester, I would not have passed. I needed it and it worked for me. Thank you, thank you MyMathLab!

Students at Louisiana State University are enjoying their experiences with MyMathLab. Here are just a few comments about how the product worked for them:

  • MyMathLab helped me finally be successful. It is almost as though it is designed to tailor to each student’s needs.
  • The Web site is clearly explained, very informative, and helpful! The examples really teach you more than anything else.
  • MyMathLab was very helpful. I learned so much this past semester. I think it was because of the repetition—practice makes perfect. In my opinion, the math lab is the perfect environment for learning math.
  • It really helped me a lot. I believe my grade would be much lower without the MyMathLab tools.
  • Being forced to go to class and do math three times a week really makes you dread it. But simply logging onto MyMathLab and doing problems when I was up to it actually got exciting as the semester progressed. I was doing well and understanding what I was learning, so I stayed interested and, more often than not, wanted to work more problems after I’d finished the assigned ones.
